Anet Norval
Anet teaches first year Creative Development in Durbz and is Subject Navigator for second year Creative Development. She also co-ordinates the Westville and KwaMashu Imagination Labs. She has a B-Tech: Fine Art from DUT and exhibits mixed media works regularly.

Alex Sudheim
Alex is the Copywriting Navigator who teaches 2nd and 3rd year Vega students about creativity, passion and developing a lifelong love of language and extreme originality. He has a BA (English, Politics); an Honours in Film Production and will this year complete his Masters in English Literature. He is an award-winning screenwriter, journalist, poet and musician and can be found by following the trail of broken pens.

Clint Griffin
Clint is the Design Navigator for 2nd and 3rd year at Vega Durbz. He has found his passion in sharing knowledge and is also involved in the industry, running his own Graphic and Web Design Consultancy - www.clintgriffin.com, which keeps his finger on the pulse of what’s current. He studied Graphic Design at ML Sultan Technikon and has a BA in Communication from the University of South Africa. Clint is now deciding what to study next…

Delaine Pillay
Delaine is the Vega Orbit Administrative navigator. She has a Diploma in Public Relations Management and a Diploma in Marketing Management from the Durbz University of Technology. She likes learning new and diverse things and meeting people from all walks of life. Delaine likes reading, shopping, shopping, more shopping and being outdoors.

Dean Henning
Dean is the Multimedia Design Navigator – teaching how to have fun with things that run on electricity. He has a diploma in Jewellery Design and is currently completing a Masters in Digital Media. Dean is involved in art (as artist and occasional curator) and music (as a writer, producer and engineer) in Durbz. He is usually found indoors, near electrical devices.

Farhana Yunnus
Farhana is the campus Librarian at Vega Durbz. She has just completed her second Honours Degree in Information Science through UNISA. She has an 11 year old son, Waheed who keeps her fit by playing rugby, cricket and hockey with her. She loves reading and listening to music.

Faith Lungile Zulu
Known as Lungi, is a Senior Orbit Administration Navigator. She has Diploma in Business Admin Management and Conference Management from Damelin and a Diploma in Fundamental Project Management from Unischool. She has beautiful daughter turning seven this year and likes to spend her free time with her. She likes studying, attending socials like braais and trips, watching movies and networking at women’s functions.

Graham Downing
Graham is a subject lecturer and Subject Navigator for Visual Communication 1 at Vega Durbz campus. He has currently completed his B.Tech (Hons) in Graphic Design at DUT.

Greg Tregoning
Greg is the Durbz Campus Navigator for Vega and a founder member of Vega and has been instrumental in opening the Imagination Labs in KZN. He has completed a National Higher Diploma in Illustration and Graphic Design. He also later obtained a Diploma in Marketing Communications and Copywriting. Greg’s passion is inspiring innovation thinking in business and developing core creative ideas that are strategically sound. He has been asked to run numerous workshops in this specialised field as well as been invited to run sessions on script writing for The Durbz International Film Festival. Many of his past students have excelled in the communications industry, locally and internationally.

Joy Chiliza
Joy is a Frontline Navigator in Durbz and has a Business Administration certificate. She is a young eager and vibrant person who always wants to know more.

Jade Kunene
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my six year adventure at Vega. I've moved from frontline navigator to relationship navigator and soon I will be Imagination Lab coordinator and Advertising Explorer. I am currently completing my diploma in Communications Management. I am Vega!"

Lanel Janse van Vuuren
Lanel is the Photography navigator. She has completed her Degree in Fine Art through Tswane University of Technology, and a post graduate diploma in Museum Studies. Lanel has been involved with the photographic industry for nearly 9 years and her portfolio includes Fine Art photographic exhibitions as well as commercial work.  Lanel thinks kitsch is cool and so is cheese.

Naretha Pretorius
Naretha is the Campus Co-Navigator: Academic for Vega Durbz. She has a BA in Fine Art from the University of Pretoria and is currently working towards her Masters in Fine Art at the Durbz University of Technology specialising in identity, memory and auto/ethnography. Naretha also acts as the Field Navigator for Creative Development where she nationally oversees the development of the curriculum and roll out on all three campuses. She lectures into module 2 (Alchemy) of the Honours programme facilitating the creative activation of research insights.

Patrick Carmody
Patrick is the Brand Strategy Field Navigator at Vega and Head of Honours on the Durbz Campus. He has a BCom Law and a post-grad in Brand Management and contributes regularly to Bizcommunity and Sunday Times Top Brands and will commence his Masters before the turn of the century! He enjoys running (between Maritzburg and Durbz), mountain biking and the occasional drink. He also consults to brand comms agencies in the area of strat planning and is the proud dad of two little boys.

Sonya Tedeschi
Sonya is a Relationship Navigator at the Durbz campus. After living in London (and giving a few other places a go too), she decided that she was a home-town girl and moved back to Durbz. Sonya is currently studying towards her Honours in Psychology and in between work and study loves nothing better than going down to the beach for a walk and swim with her husband their dogs, Steve and Sophie.

Steffie Betts
Steffie is one of the Relationship Navigators at Vega Durbz, responsible for a mix of students from both the Creative Degree and the Higher Certificate in Photography. Having been in and around the industry for many years, she finds it particularly rewarding to witness the development of students, from school leaver stage, right through to graduation and beyond. Steffie keeps in touch with many of Vega’s past students and graduates and is the one to contact regarding opportunities in the industry. In her “spare” time, Steffie compiles and edits her own free email newsletter, Word of Mouth in KZN (a community service initiative), which goes out every 2 weeks to a subscriber base of just under 7000 – see www.word-of-mouth.co.za and click on Current to see the latest issue!

Selvin Naidoo
Selvin Naidoo is the Vega IT Navigator in KZN. He has a NQF Level 5 Qualification in system support. In his spare time he can be found at Church, home relaxing, playing sport (Cricket, Soccer and Volleyball) or at the Gateway mall. He Love Kids and helping out non- profit organisation

Steven Kotze
Steve Kotze is the first year Copywriting navigator, and teaches Critical Context in the Imagination Labs at kwaMashu and Westville too. He has a post-graduate degree in African history from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and is fascinated by the tortured, complicated past of this country. Last year Steve recorded a 2-hour narrative CD that tells the story of silent, vegetarian Trappist monks who came to this part of the world as missionaries in 1882.

Sershin Naicker
Sershin is the Contact Navigator in Durbz. He has a Bachelors Degree in Social Science from the University of KwaZulu Natal. He enjoys music, sport and considers himself a bit of a movie buff. The movies topping his all time greatest list include: The Godfather, Star Wars, Braveheart, Bad Boys, Top Gun (his call sign would have been Maverick too) and all the OO7 movies . His new mission is to spread the word about Vega in KZN!

Tanya Perumal
Tanya is the Vega Orbit Navigator in KZN. She has a B Com degree specialising in Marketing & Management from UKZN. She is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Theology Degree through UNISA. In her spare time she can be found in nature, learning guitar, expressing her creativity in cooking or getting lost in words scribbled in her journal. By far, her highlight in life is spending time with her family as they provide endless hours entertainment and joy; “they’re a gift that just keep giving”.

Vijay Ramballie
Vijay is the Campus Co-Navigator for HR and Operations. He has completed a Bachelors Degree in Science and a Bachelors Degree in Commerce at the University of Natal (Pietermaritzburg). He enjoys just lazing around at the beach on weekends, and spending time with his nephew, Darshan, who is an inspiration to him. Vijay believes that some of the best life lessons can be learnt from children, and they help you gain an appreciation for life. He values friendship and family and expresses his creativity in writing and learning music.
