Naretha does it!
10 February 2012
If we haven't said it before, here it is again: Vega navigators are serious about academia.
Academic Co-Navigator at Vega Durban, Naretha Pretorius, received her Masters degree. Below is a note from Dr Carla Enslin, National Academic Navigator.

Not only does Naretha officially receive her Masters, she receives it cum laude.
We are very proud of you Naretha!
“Naretha conducted a "journey of awareness" which is a self-study that explored her identity as a white Afrikaans speaking woman during and post-Apartheid. She explored her, her family, her community of origin and especially her mother’s memories as a form of inquiry. The inquiry included the use of memorabilia, visiting and engaging in significant places and by sharing their stories and their lived experiences. Her journey of awareness was undertaken to develop a better understanding of her art practice and of her beliefs. The result of her study was a solo exhibition entitled "Onthaal Onthul" as well as a dissertation, which she passed with distinction. You can visit her blog to have a look at her work and to read her catalogue: www.narethapretorius.wordpress.com”
