Hundreds of entries poured in for the NPC-CIMPOR Stories Set In Time Photographic Competition which challenged photographers to capture the essence of any concrete form that embraces the spirit of a story, fictional or fact! The Top 33 images are on show at the KZNSA Gallery and Vega Durban has 4 images on show! Not only that, but the overall winner of the competition is a 2010 BA Creative Brand Communications student, Brandon Celine. Brandon walked away with R20 000 in 1st place and had a 2nd image as part of the top 33 selected images. Third place went to one of our part time photography Navigators, Andrew Griffin, and a well reputed Durban Photographer. Roanne Sutcliffe’s image (2011 Higher Certificate in Photography) was also selected as one of the top 33 images. Vega Durban has participated in previous NPC Photographic competitions in 2009 and 2010. Last year we had Michelle Hibbert (2010 Higher Certificate in Photography) in third place, and Andrew Griffin as overall winner. In addition we had two Higher Certificate in Photography students, Shane Childs and Olivia Davel, who were part of the top images on show. Our very own Photography Navigator Lanel Janse van Vuuren and well known photographer Angela Buckland (also one of our part time Photography Navigators) were part of the selected images on show at KZNSA Gallery in 2009. 2011 NPC - Stories Set in time2010 NPC - New Angle on Concrete2009 NPC - Focus on a Concrete FutureImages and more information available at www.npcfocus.co.za and www.kznsagallery.co.za Congratulations to all involved!
