Job Title PR lead (Authority, Reputation & New-Business Positioning) About the Role Company Wellness Solutions (CWS) is looking for an External Marketing & PR Lead to build, protect, and scale how we are perceived by the market. This role exists to shape external perception, build authority, and reduce risk for organisations choosing us — before the sales conversation even begins. You will sit at the intersection of PR, authority marketing, credibility, and new-business enablement, working closely with leadership to position CWS as a trusted, risk-aware wellbeing and EAP partner for enterprise, government, and regulated environments. If you are excited by thought leadership, media, reputation, and strategic influence, and bored by shallow marketing metrics, this role was built for you. What You Will Own You will own external marketing in its truest sense: how CWS is seen, trusted, and chosen by people who are not yet our clients.
This includes:
External Positioning & Authority
- Translate CWS’s strategic positioning into clear, consistent external messaging
- Own and protect CWS’s market authority
- Ensure all external-facing work reinforces credibility, professionalism, and enterprise readiness
Public Relations & Media Presence
- Build and manage CWS’s PR function from the ground up Identify monthly PR angles aligned to business priorities and workforce realities
- Pitch expert commentary, insights, and opinions to relevant HR, business, and industry media Manage media relationships and respond to inbound media requests
- Ensure every PR win is repurposed across website credibility assets and sales support material
Thought Leadership & External Content Oversight
- Guide and refine external thought leadership themes (even when content is executed by others)
- Ensure all external-facing articles, insights, and commentary align to market authority and business intent
- Act as the final quality gate for tone, framing, and external relevance Avoid “fluffy” or awareness-only messaging in favour of insight-driven authority
Visibility & Reach Strategy Design
- a deliberate visibility strategy for reaching HR, Exco, Risk, and Procurement audiences
- Evaluate and manage external exposure opportunities including: Expos and industry events
- Panels and debates
- Podcasts and speaking opportunities
- Decide where visibility supports authority — and where it does not
Trust & Risk Reduction
- Assets Identify, extract, and surface proof that reduces buyer risk
- Ensure case outcomes, credibility signals, and compliance markers are visible where decision-makers look Work with internal teams to ensure accuracy, ethics, and governance alignment
Conversion Support for New Business Support sales teams with:
- Clear external talking points Authority-backed narratives PR references and credibility assets
- Ensure external marketing shortens sales cycles and improves buyer confidence Maintain strong alignment between external perception and sales reality
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with leadership, sales, and internal marketing
- Respect internal ownership while ensuring external coherence
- Act as the external-facing conscience of the brand

- Experience & Skills 5+ years in PR, communications, external marketing, or thought leadership roles
- Proven experience securing media coverage or expert commentary
- Strong editorial judgement and narrative framing ability
- Experience working with senior stakeholders or executive teams Familiarity with HR, healthcare, wellbeing, OHS, or regulated industries (advantageous)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
