Design Assistant:

• We are recruiting for a Design Assistant for one of our clients within the Retail/ Manufacturing industry.
• The successful candidate must come with a minimum of 1 years’ experience within a similar role and has extensive knowledge on the usage of Photoshop and Illustrator.
• The position will be based in Johannesburg South.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that stock and graphics inventories remain at acceptable levels.
• Printing part number labels, barcodes, and other labels.
• Assisting HR and the Design Manager with any promotions or events related to graphics.
• Maintaining the proper filing of electronic documents.
• Updating electronic documents stored in the system.
• Managing an accurate diary and practicing effective time management.
• Creating product listing sheets for new items to be uploaded onto online portals.
• Editing photos to meet specific requirements for online sites.
• Managing online platforms.
• Working quickly and efficiently while understanding the importance of time management.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is a prerequisite. 
• Creating daily advertisements for online platforms – must demonstrate creativity and efficiency.
• Possessing knowledge of the internet is essential.
• Precise redrawing of provided logos and bag layouts.
• Recreating digital versions of designs produced by the design department.
• Editing photographs.
• Labelling and archiving photographs for the relevant clients.
• Assisting in maintaining orderly stock shelves.
• Generating CAD drawings from images of bags/wallets.
• Designing monthly sale leaflets.
• Obtaining approval or requested alterations from management and executing them accordingly.
• Scanning pertinent documents for various individuals.
• Monitoring the progress of tasks and carrying out required actions.
• Maintaining the overall tidiness and appearance of the graphics office.
• Aiding in catalogue layouts.
• Handling general office administration, including data entry, filing, and ordering supplies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric.
• Essential: 1 year experience as a Design Assistant within a Retail/Manufacturing industry.
• Beneficial: Knowledge of Illustrator, photoshop and Microsoft Office.
