Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Curation:
- Assist in developing and scheduling engaging content (text, image, video) for various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, etc.) and other community channels.
- Brainstorm and propose new content ideas that align with our brand voice and marketing strategies.
- Help create visually appealing graphics or work with design teams to produce content.
Community Engagement & Moderation:
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries from community members in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster positive discussions and interactions within the community.
- Identify and flag engagement opportunities, as well as potential issues or negative sentiment.
- Assist in moderating online forums and groups to maintain a respectful and constructive environment.
Social Listening & Reporting:
- Track and report on community feedback, online reviews, and mentions across various platforms.
- Gather insights into community performance, engagement metrics, and trends.
- Assist in preparing regular reports on community activity and provide recommendations for improvement.
Campaign Support:
- Support the execution of social media and communication campaigns.
- Help with outreach to potential community members and influencers.
- Assist in organizing virtual events, webinars, contests, or other community-building initiatives.
Market Research & Trend Analysis:
- Stay up-to-date with current social media trends, community best practices, and relevant industry news. Conduct basic market research to understand community needs and preferences.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the marketing, content, and other internal teams to ensure brand consistency and align community activities with overall business goals.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (reading and writing)
- Strong understanding and active presence on various social media platforms (please specify relevant ones like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a flair for creative and engaging content.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tools and technologies.
- A genuine passion for building communities and connecting with people.
- Basic understanding of community management tools and analytics is a plus (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Google Analytics).
- Prior experience with content creation or managing online groups/pages (personal or professional) is a strong advantage.
