Assistant to Buyer

Rage is a Leading Fashion Retailer of footwear and apparel in ladies and children’s markets in South Africa. With a range of shoes, clothing, handbags, and perfumes that are inspired by the latest trends across the globe. Rage has over 650 stores across South Africa. Rage has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant to Buyer at the head office in Modderfontein, Gauteng. The Assistant to Buyer will help retail buyers with the purchasing and procurement of goods for future retail sales. Some job aspects are more strategic and involve analysing competitor pricing, research trends, and create advertising layouts for publication. Use analytical ability to analyse and review supplier data

Responsibilities:

• Identify market trends and forecast sales accordingly
• Price negotiations with suppliers
• Procurement involving sample requests and couriers with allocated suppliers
• Procurement with new suppliers
• Processing orders
• Effective Communication with suppliers Handle follow up on orders
• Required to manage sample development including fitting
• General buying administration Keeps records of all data Assist with all adhoc duties required in the department

• A relevant Fashion Degree.
• Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
• Confident and persistent
• Good numeracy skills Methodical & meticulous
• High attention to detail 
• Organised
• Strong admin skills
