TEMPORARY SHORT TERM CONTRACT: MARKETING AND ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT

10- HOURS PER WEEK

If you are currently studying or have completed your studies and are looking for some practical experience, then this is an opportunity for you to earn some extra money on a 6-month contract with limited hours, and gain hands on experience in an exciting new venture.

Womoba is a subsidiary of the South African Canegrowers Association NPC (SA Canegrowers). The company was established to further the for-profit initiatives of the organisation with the aim of ensuring a sustainable cane growing sector.

The company has completed a number of successful projects during its short existence and Shesha™ being one of them. Shesha™ is the world’s first raw sugarcane-based energy drink newly developed by Womoba. Hand harvested and peeled high quality sugarcane stalks are crushed forming the base of this naturally sweetened and fortified energy drink.

The cane is harvested and the product canned in KwaZulu-Natal. Womoba has a vacancy for a short-term Contract Marketing and Administration Assistant based in Mount Edgecombe, Durban to assist in the Marketing and Administration of Shesha™.

What Would You Do:

MARKETING

Manage product apparel and marketing materials by:

• Creating a catalogue of all products and their prices.
• Receiving and managing orders for merchandise (fridges, shirts, caps, banners, gazebos…etc).
• Obtaining quotes and managing development of all products for vendors
• Collating stock lists and inventory

Assist with co-ordinating marketing, sponsorship and promotional events by:

• Sourcing and liaising with promoters for each event (sourced from Recruitco).
• Establishing what materials (i.e. banners, tables, ice, stock etc) are required for each event. 
• Attending event and assisting, where necessary.

SALES & DISTRIBUTION

• Receive orders from distributors and retailers 
• Perform regular stock controls at Durban North DC and Mt Edgecombe 
• Issuing orders and ensuring timely collection. 
• Manage delivery of stock if requested. 
• Manage and monitor online orders and arrange courier of stock. 
• Distribute marketing materials and samples to potential stockists. 

GENERAL ADMIN – ACCOUNTS AND MARKETING PERSON

• Source service providers for various activities/products required 
• Obtain quotes from various service providers 

The contract will run for 6 months and entail 10 hours per week. It is possible that a small number of these hours could fall on a Saturday.

What You MUST Have:

• A valid code 8 drivers’ license. 
• Preferably studied or studying in fields such as Brand Management, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Design and marketing, Communication or the like.
• Third Year/ Honours/ Master’s student/ past student with flexible hours.
• Some experience in administration.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Attention to detail and planning and organising skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
