You are a new student if you are:
- applying or registering for a qualification for the first time with The IIE
You are a rollover student if you are:
- registered or were previously registered at IIE-Vega or one of The IIE brands and are returning to study a new qualification at IIE-Vega. E.g, a student returning to study a degree after completing a higher certificate with The IIE
Step 1 - Enquire
Complete the enquiry form for your chosen programme on our website. Your enquiry will be followed up by one of our Contact Navigators to discuss your programme choice and to schedule an appointment.
If you have already completed this step - proceed to step 2.
Step 2 - Apply
Complete the online application form on our website and pay an application fee, if relevant. New students need to pay a non-refundable application fee. If you are registering for a new qualification but are not a new student to The IIE (rollover student), no application fee payment is required.
If you have already completed this step - proceed to step 3.
Step 3 - Pay
Once we have confirmed payment of your application fee (if applicable), you will receive an Application Confirmation Letter and login credentials to your application portal. Your application portal is where you need to upload documents and receive important communication and information, so please keep your login credentials handy.
If you have already completed this step - proceed to step 4.
Step 4 - Accept your Offer
Your application will be reviewed, and admission will be approved or declined based on the documents you have uploaded to demonstrate that you meet the admission requirements.
You will receive an Offer Letter via email and via your application portal. You need to promptly accept the offer and pay the Pre-Registration fee of R2500 to secure your place.
If you have already completed this step - proceed to step 5.
Step 5 - Admission and registration
Admission will be determined based on your final results. When registration opens you will be invited, via email, to follow a link to register on your student portal.
Should your admission not be successful, a Contact Navigator will be in touch to explore other potential programme options.
Step 1: Invitation to Register
When registration opens for 2024, and you have submitted all the documents required for admission, paid your non-refundable pre-registration fee and your admission has been approved, you will receive an invitation to register via email. Your portal username (STxxxxxx) and password, as well as the hyperlink to the portal will be included in your invitation to register email.
Step 2: Documents
Have the following documentation ready- copy of the fee payer national ID or passport and proof of banking account details.
Step 3: Campus Registration Guide and Video
Read your campus registration guide and watch the registration video.
Step 4 - Register and pay
Proceed to the portal:
- Select your payment term and modules.
- Ensure your personal details are up to date.
- Ensure your address details are complete and correct.
- Complete your fee payer details, upload their national ID or passport and the proof of account details.
- Make payment via the PayU portal.
- Accept your registration Terms and Conditions
- Submit your registration request.
Online registration should take about 20 minutes to complete.
You will receive your proof of registration email once we have validated your registration request and payment. Please allow up to 5 working days for validation of your registration request to be done.

- returning to study the same qualification at The IIE. E.g., returning for year 2 or year 3 of an IIE degree.
Step 1: Consult
Prior to registering, make sure you have consulted with a member of the academic team who will guide you through your academic progression and selection of modules for the 2024 academic year.
Step 2: Invitation to Register
When registration opens for 2024, you will receive an invitation to register via email. Use your SSO (Single Sign On) login details to access the portal. The hyperlink to the portal will be included in your invitation to register email.
Step 3: Documents
Have the following documentation ready - copy of the fee payer national ID or passport and proof of banking account details.
